About Hunter Merghart
Matthew Walsh co-founded Castle Island Ventures in 2018 as a seed-stage equity fund focused on companies building on public blockchains, deliberately positioning it as decidedly not a crypto hedge fund at a time when most crypto funds were oriented around tokens and trading. He brings a financial-services background from Fidelity, where he was effectively the company's internal crypto entrepreneur and helped explore blockchain use cases before the R&D work led to Fidelity Digital Assets, and he maintains an unusually detailed focus on market structure and regulation as prerequisites for safer crypto markets.
